Sunset

Golden Hour at the Ruins

A short walk from the historic arch to the waterfront as the sun dips below the skyline.

Best time: 18:02About 45 min

Timeline

  1. 17:32

    Beer Temple

Grab a cold drink at Beer Temple. It is just a five minute walk from the Ruins and opens at 13:00, so it is fully ready for your arrival.

  2. 17:47

    Ruins of St. Paul

Walk up to the Ruins of St. Paul. The stone facade catches the last warm light before the sun dips. Use the 13 minutes from Lou Lim Ioc Park if you want a garden detour first, but the direct approach from the nearby shops is quicker.

  3. 18:22

    Dr. Carlos D'Assumpcao Park

Walk 24 minutes down to Dr. Carlos D'Assumpcao Park. The sun will have set, but the water-side promenade offers a quiet place to watch the city lights turn on across the bay.

Local tip

The sun sets toward the WSW. The Ruins face roughly north, so the light hits the side early. For the best view of the sunset behind the city skyline, head to Dr. Carlos D'Assumpcao Park after the moment passes.
