Arrive at the Iwaki Local History Museum. Climb to the top floor for the view of Kameda. The tower is visible from afar, so you will spot it easily on your approach.
06:58
Watch the sunrise. The sun sets toward the WSW in winter, but rises in the east. For the best morning light, aim for the golden light period which begins shortly after sunrise. In January, golden light starts at 15:58, but for a sunrise plan, the early morning glow is the key moment. The top floor offers nice views.
07:58
Head down to the first floor. There is a restaurant and gift shop here. Grab a coffee or a light bite to start your day properly after the early climb.
Local tip
No English is spoken at the museum, so have your destination address ready in Japanese or on a map for your taxi or walk back.
