    Walk southwest to the Datang Everbright Square viewpoint. Find a spot on the pavement facing northeast toward the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.

    Watch the golden light wash over the temple complex and the pagoda as the sun sets toward the WSW.

    Stroll west-southwest to the Tang Paradise park to see the grounds lit up as evening falls.

Local tip

The mall cafés and ice cream shops open at 10:00, so you have plenty of time to get your drink before the sunset hour. The park closes at 18:30 in winter, so head there before the gates close.
