Timeline

  1. 09:00

    Shaanxi Science & Technology Museum

Arrive at the Shaanxi Science & Technology Museum right at 09:00. This is the quietest time to explore the four floors, from the history of technology on the first level to the multimedia exhibits upstairs. Remember that entry is free but strictly limited, and the museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

  2. 10:00

    Shuyuanmen Antique Paper & Ink

Walk 10 minutes to Shuyuanmen Antique Paper & Ink. Step away from the mass-produced trinkets and look for traditional rice paper, ink stones, and calligraphy sets. It is a thoughtful place to pause and find a cultural souvenir.

  3. 10:30

    Xi'an Book Building

Walk 11 minutes to Xi'an Book Building. Browse the four floors of books. While most are in Chinese, head to the second floor for a small selection of English books. The building also houses a small audio section worth a quick look.

  4. 11:30

    East Street

Walk 12 minutes to East Street. Stroll through the regular fashion shops. On the right side, you will find the underground mall called LuoMaShi, where you can find cheap socks, knockoff goods, and local brands if you are looking for something practical.

Local tip

The museum does not allow entry after 15:00. Plan your lunch break before then, or enjoy a snack from the nearby shops before heading out.
