Timeline

  1. 09:30

    Shaanxi Art Museum

Enter the Shaanxi Art Museum. Arriving right at opening gives you the best chance to view the paintings and calligraphy in peace before the day visitors arrive.

  2. 10:15

    Shuyuanmen Antique Paper & Ink

Walk five minutes to Shuyuanmen Antique Paper & Ink. Browse traditional rice paper, ink stones, and calligraphy sets. It is a great place to find a thoughtful, cultural souvenir away from the mass-produced trinkets.

  3. 10:30

    Huimin Street (回民街 Huímínjiē)

Head to Huimin Street. This is the best place to buy souvenirs in the city center. Be aware that sellers usually offer very high prices, so expect to negotiate. Even if you bring them down by 50%, they will still make a big profit.

  4. 11:00

    Li Ming's Dumpling House

Finish with a meal at Li Ming's Dumpling House. This tiny, family-run spot is known only to locals. Order the exceptional guotie (potstickers) and baozi (steamed buns) with secret-recipe fillings.
