Timeline

  1. 10:00

    Worcester Historical Museum

Arrive at the Worcester Historical Museum right when it opens. Spend an hour exploring the rotating art exhibits and the section dedicated to the manufacturing industries that built the city. Do not miss the room dedicated to the smiley face, which was invented in Worcester.

  2. 11:15

    The Armsby Abbey

Walk nine minutes to The Armsby Abbey for lunch. This is Worcester's flagship farm-to-table restaurant, frequently chosen as the best in the city. The menu changes with the seasons, and much of the meat and produce is sourced from New England.

  3. 12:15

    Elm Park

Head to Elm Park, the grand old lady of Worcester parks. The land was purchased by the city in 1854, making it one of the first purchases of land set aside for a public park in the U.S. It is a quiet place to reflect on the city's long history.

Local tip

The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00. On Thursdays it stays open until 20:30. The Armsby Abbey is nearby for lunch. Elm Park is a short walk from the museum area.
