Timeline

  1. 18:43

    NU Chicken

Grab a quick bite at NU Chicken. It is open until 22:00, so you have plenty of time before heading up the hill.

  2. 19:13

    Elm Park

Walk to Elm Park. The park was one of the first public parks in the U.S. and is the best vantage point in the area for watching the sky change color.

  3. 19:28

    Elm Park

Find a spot on the grass or near the pond to watch the sun set toward the WNW.

  4. 19:58

    Newton Hill

Cross Park Ave to Newton Hill for the final view. It is a short walk up through the trails and disc golf course. The trees limit the view, but the height gives you a different perspective of the darkening city.

Local tip

Elm Park is free to enter. Newton Hill is part of the same park system, so no separate ticket is needed.
