Timeline

  1. 13:00

    Green Hill Park

Enter Green Hill Park and head toward the historic Green Hill Park Shelter. It is a short 5-minute walk from the main park areas, located to the west-northwest. This 1911 picnic shelter, designed by George H. Clemence, offers a quiet, shaded spot to pause and take in the scale of the 480-acre park.

  2. 13:30

    Green Hill Park

Visit the Massachusetts Vietnam Veterans Memorial located within the park grounds. It is a solemn and reflective stop that honors local service members. Take your time reading the inscriptions and observing the surroundings before moving on.

  3. 14:00

    Green Hill Park

Walk up to the club house restaurant at the public golf course. Since there are no other food or drink shops listed in the immediate vicinity, this is your best option for a snack or a drink while you remain on the park grounds. Enjoy the view of the fairways and the hilltop setting.

  4. 14:30

    Green Hill Park

Stroll along one of the walking trails to find a quiet bench or open grassy area. The park is vast enough that you can easily find a secluded spot to rest your feet and watch the light change over the treetops. This is the perfect time to simply breathe in the fresh air away from downtown.

Local tip

Green Hill Park is huge. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as there are limited facilities outside the main club house area. The park is open during daylight hours.
