Walk northwest to Elm Park. This grand old park was purchased by the city in 1854, making it one of the first public parks in the United States. Stroll through the grounds to see the landscape that has defined this neighborhood for over a century.
15:20
End your walk at the View Street Historic District. Located just south of the park, this residential area features eleven triple decker houses. Nine of them remain particularly well preserved, showcasing the Colonial Revival styling from the late 1920s.
Local tip
Elm Park is large and open. If you want to see the Newton Hill view, you will need to cross Park Ave and walk another 50 minutes, but for a relaxed half-day plan, the park and View Street offer a complete historical loop.
