Timeline

Stop at Sam's Pizzeria & Cantina for a casual meal. The pasta, focaccia, and salads are reliable, and the cocktails help you settle in before the walk. It is a short 13-minute walk from the park anchor, making it an easy start.
16:44
Walk to McKee Park. It is only seven minutes from the anchor point and sits to the southwest. Arrive here to get your bearings as the sky begins to shift color.
17:24
Move to Ernest Atkinson Park to watch the sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, which is directly west-southwest from this spot. The golden light starts about 43 minutes before this moment, so you will see the colors build. This is the center of the experience.
17:54
End your evening with a stroll to Windsor Riverfront Park. It is a short 17-minute walk from the anchor in the ENE direction. The light has faded, but the riverfront remains peaceful as you finish the loop.
Local tip
The sun sets toward the WSW in January. If you visit in July, the sun sets toward the WNW, so you would need to look in a different direction from Ernest Atkinson Park. Check the route for the walk between McKee Park and Ernest Atkinson Park if you are not familiar with the area.
Check before you go
