Timeline
09:00
Pick up a coffee and a pastry from Caffe L’affare. This family-run spot has its own roastery and is one of the few places open early enough to fuel your climb.
09:15
Walk the short 9-minute path up to the Mount Victoria summit. The climb is steep but rewarding, leading to the best lookout in the city.
09:45
Take in the full 360-degree view from the Mount Victoria lookout. On a clear morning, you can see the harbour, the CBD, and the Town Belt with just a turn of your head.
10:00
Head down to Beach Babylon for a late morning snack or lunch. The retro, beach-paradise inspired café offers Wellington’s best outdoor dining area to relax after the climb.
Local tip
The summit is open all day, but arriving at 09:00 ensures you have the best light and the fewest people for your photos.
