    Stop at 夢食館北市場 for a warm local snack or drink. The regional restaurant is open and ready to fuel you before the walk. It is a 16-minute walk from the Wakkanai Karafuto Museum, so factor that in if you are starting there.

    氷雪の門

    Walk 27 minutes NNW from the museum area to 氷雪の門. This public art installation is the prime vantage point. Arrive early to find your spot facing the WSW.

    氷雪の門

    Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light starting at 15:28 will have already washed over the scene, but the final dip below the horizon at 16:15 is the key moment.

  4. 16:35

    Chill Cafe

    End the evening with a quiet drink or dessert at Chill Cafe. It is a short 13-minute walk back from 氷雪の門 and stays open until 22:00, giving you plenty of time to unwind.

The walk to 氷雪の門 is exposed. Dress warmly and check the wind direction before you head out.
