Best time: sunsetAbout 75 min

Timeline

  1. 20:49

    Bolaget

Grab a drink and settle in at Bolaget. It sits on the sunniest part of the main square, so you can enjoy the afternoon warmth and watch the square come alive before the evening rush. The French food or barbeque steak are good options if you are hungry, but a drink is enough to hold the spot.

  2. 21:19

    DBW's Botanical Gardens

Walk through DBW's Botanical Gardens. Enter through the "Door of Love" to get a moment of quiet reflection among the trees and ruins before heading back to the square. It is a short, peaceful detour that resets your pace.

  3. 21:34

    Packhusplan

Stand at Packhusplan to watch the sunset. The square faces the direction of the setting sun, offering an unobstructed view of the light fading over Visby. This is the core moment of the evening.

  4. 22:04

    Gamla Masters

End the evening at Gamla Masters. With the sun gone, move just a short walk away to enjoy the "living room atmosphere." It is open late, so you can stay as long as you like, enjoying traditional Swedish cuisine or bar menu classics in a warm setting.

Local tip

Bolaget is busy in the summer. If you want a seat with a view of the square, arrive at least 45 minutes before sunset. Gamla Masters is open every night, so it is a reliable end to the evening regardless of the season.
