Walk to the Gate of Dawn. This is the last survivor of the walled city's nine gates, straddled by a chapel with a large icon. Arrive just before the sun sets to catch the final moments of light on the stone facade.

End the night at BIX. Founded by the BIX rock band, this spot offers surprisingly good food and rock music on the dance floor. It is a lively, atmospheric place to stay as the night settles in.
