Follow McKenzie Ave east past the University of Victoria, and keep following as it turns into Sinclair Rd and then a tiny dead-end street to reach Cadboro Bay Beach. Settle in on the sand or at one of the many picnic tables.

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. On clear days, you can see across the water to the Olympic Mountains in Washington state.

Stay a while longer. The beach has play sculptures and a small zip-line if you want to keep the evening active, or just enjoy the lingering golden light.
Local tip
The beach is popular, so arrive early enough to secure a good spot with a clear view of the water.
