    The Bop

Pick up a quick bite at The Bop. The Korean restaurant is open for dinner service until 20:30, giving you plenty of time to eat before the sun goes down. Note that it is closed on Mondays and public holidays, so check the day you plan to go.

  2. 17:01

    Beacon Hill Park

Walk fifteen minutes south from your meal to Beacon Hill Park. Head straight for the south end where the waterfront walking path offers an unobstructed view of the Olympic Mountains to the west. The park is large, so take your time finding the best spot on the path.

    Beacon Hill Park

Stand by the water and watch the sun set toward the WSW. At 17:46 on 15 January, the day ends. The golden light that started at 16:54 will have already faded, leaving a cool, blue twilight over the water.

  4. 18:16

    Beagle Pub

Walk eleven minutes north to Beagle Pub. It is a short trek back toward the more central part of the park area. The pub is open until 23:00 on weekdays, making it a perfect spot to warm up with a drink and reflect on the view.

Local tip

The walk from The Bop to the park is straightforward, but the park itself is extensive. Stick to the waterfront path on the south end for the best sunset views. Beagle Pub is a reliable stop if you want a warm drink after the chill of the evening.
