Walk five minutes to the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta. Enter early to secure a good vantage point inside. The interior mosaics are most striking when the late afternoon light filters through.

    Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta

Stay inside or by the entrance as the sun sets toward the WSW. The golden light at 16:05 will illuminate the Byzantine mosaics, creating a warm, atmospheric glow that defines the space.

  4. 17:22

    Ristorante al Trono di Attila

End the evening at Ristorante al Trono di Attila. Since it is after 17:00, you can enjoy the evening ambiance. Note that dinner reservations are required on Fridays and Saturdays from May to September, but it is open for lunch daily, so check if you are visiting in summer.

Local tip

The Campanile is closed for restoration, so the basilica itself is the primary visual anchor. Arrive early to avoid the crowd of day-trippers who usually leave before sunset.
