Stop for a coffee and ftira at the Museum Cafe. The interior is striking, and the owner is known for being accommodating. It is a perfect place to settle in before the crowds arrive.

Walk up to The Upper Barrakka Gardens. Find a spot facing west. The gardens offer a jaw-dropping view of the Grand Harbour. Bring a bottle of champagne if you wish to celebrate.
17:26
Head to Cafe Society for a cocktail. It is the only queer bar in Malta and a great place to unwind after the view. In warmer months, guests spill out into the street, adding to the lively atmosphere.
Local tip
The Upper Barrakka Gardens are open all day, but the light is best just before sunset. Cafe Society opens at 12:00, so you can arrive early for a pre-sunset drink if you prefer.
