Golden Hour at El Cielo

Skip the midday heat and arrive just as the light turns soft and warm. This plan centers on the winery’s golden hour, offering a quiet moment before the evening crowds arrive.

Best time: 16:28About 90 min

Timeline

  1. 15:28

    El Cielo

Arrive at El Cielo. The facility is large, so take your time finding a quiet corner in the tasting room or near the lakes to settle in. It is the perfect time to order a glass of their younger, casual wine and enjoy the hacienda-style architecture before the light changes.

  2. 16:13

    El Cielo Valle de Guadalupe

Walk seven minutes north-northeast to the specific viewing spot at El Cielo. This is your prime location. Settle in and watch the western sky. As the golden light begins at 16:28, the sun sets toward the WSW, casting a warm glow over the vineyards and lakes.

  3. 16:58

    El Cielo

After the light fades, head back inside or to one of the two restaurants. You can choose the upscale steakhouse or the fusion of Baja and Yucatan cuisines to enjoy a meal while the evening cools down.

Local tip

The winery produces several levels of wine. Ask for the 'Constellations' level if you want something moody and complex, or stick to the first level for casual drinking.
