Timeline
14:02
Grab a hot dish or pasta at Restoran Lilli. It is the only restaurant in the city, so go early to ensure it is open and you get a seat before the evening rush.
15:02
Walk to the German cemetery and memorial at the end of Roheline street. This is a somber site in the middle of a pine forest. Arrive an hour before sunset to absorb the atmosphere and find a good spot on the grounds.
16:02
Watch the sunset. On January 15th, the sun sets toward the SW, casting its final light over the memorial and the surrounding forest.
16:47
End the evening back at Restoran Lilli or Voorimehi Pubi. Restoran Lilli closes at 19:00 on weekdays and 21:00 on weekends, so check the day. If it is closed, Voorimehi Pubi stays open later (until 24:00 or 03:00 depending on the day) and offers a place to sit after the cold evening air.
Local tip
The cemetery is located at the end of Roheline street. The walk from the town center is short, but the site is remote. Bring a jacket as it gets cold near the ground in the evening.
