Have an early dinner at Fröj. This New Nordic Kitchen is one of Finland's best, offering a relaxed pre-sunset meal. The Friday lunch menu is quick, but the evening sessions allow you to linger.

Walk to the Statue of Liberty in the Market Square. The sculpture commemorates the victory of the Whites in the Finnish Civil War. Arrive here as the sun dips below the horizon toward the WSW, casting long shadows over the historic square.

Head to Faros for a drink. Located at the Kalaranta (Fish harbour), this spot features a terrace on and near a boat. It is the perfect place to watch the night settle over the water. Note that this venue is only open during the summer months.
Local tip
Faros is seasonal. If you visit outside summer, check the route to a different harbour-side spot or a pub like Oliver's Inn, which stays open late.
Check before you go
- Fröj requires reservations for the evening sessions.
- Faros is only open during summers. If visiting in October, this step will be closed; check the route for an alternative evening drink.
