Find your spot in Koivupuisto park. It is just a short walk from the Market place, but arriving early ensures you have a clear view of the northern end of the square where the Statue of Freedom stands. The park is quiet before the city wakes up.
04:05
Watch the sunrise. On the selected dates, the sun rises directly behind the Market place and the Statue of Freedom. The light will hit the statue first, creating a striking silhouette against the brightening sky.
04:35
Walk two minutes to Fröj for a post-sunrise breakfast. This New Nordic kitchen is highly rated and perfect for a leisurely start to the day. Note that for a morning meal, you must arrive during their Friday lunch service or weekend opening hours, as they are closed on Mondays and do not open for breakfast on other days.
Local tip
Koivupuisto is a 10-minute walk from the Market place. If you are staying near the square, you can walk there after the sunrise moment, but arriving before the sun is up is better for securing a good viewing angle.
