Timeline

  1. 08:00

    Dangars Falls

Arrive at the picnic area when it opens. The grounds are free and open from 07:00 to 19:00 daily. Use the toilets and set up a base near the picnic tables. Bring your own water as there are no shops on site.

  2. 09:00

    Dangars Falls

Walk down to the falls. The waterfall is 183 meters high but is ephemeral, meaning it only flows after rain. If it is dry, the rock face and the surrounding bushland are still worth seeing. Take a moment to look up at the height.

  3. 09:45

    Dangars Falls

Have lunch at the picnic area. Use the barbecue facilities if you have brought food and fuel. Remember to take your litter out with you as there is no waste management on-site beyond the bins.

  4. 10:30

    Dangars Falls

End your visit with a short stroll. If you have energy, the McDirty's Walking Track is 6km and takes 2-3 hours to complete (Grade 3 difficulty). For a lighter finish, simply wander the immediate campground area or enjoy the quiet before heading back.
