Sit down for coffee and cake at Ofvandahls Hovkonditori. Founded in 1878, this is one of the oldest operating cafés in Uppsala and a favorite among students and cultural circles. It is the birthplace of the local Uppsala pastry tradition.

Walk to Uppsala Gamla Kyrkogård. As the largest cemetery in Uppsala, it is a beautiful place for a walk. Notable burials include the national romantic poet Erik Gustaf Geijer, poet Gustaf Fröding, artists Olof Thunman and Bruno Liljefors, Nobel laureates Kai Siegbahn, Arne Tiselius, Svante Arrhenius and the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Dag Hammarskjöld.

Find a quiet spot in the cemetery to watch the sunset. On 15 October the sun sets at 17:41, heading toward the WSW. The golden light starts about 16:42, casting a warm glow over the gravestones.

End the evening at Tzatziki. This Greek restaurant is located just by the Fyris River and below the Cathedral. Their outdoor seating area, within arms-length of the river, is arguably the best in Uppsala. It is open until 22:00 on Sundays and 23:00 on other days.
Local tip
The cemetery is a public space, but please remain respectful of the graves and visitors. The walk from the café is short, allowing you to arrive with plenty of time before the light fades.
