    Gandantegchinlen Monastery

Watch the morning services at Gandantegchinlen Monastery. As the main monastery in the city and one of the few spared from the Communist purges, it offers a rare glimpse into traditional religious life. Arrive early to see the monks at their daily routines before the crowds gather.

    Nayra Cafe

Walk fifteen minutes to Nayra Cafe for a light lunch. It opens at 08:00, making it perfect for a post-monastery break. Order pizza, sandwiches, or coffee. Most items are under 8000₮.

  3. 15:35

    Fountain Square

Stroll nineteen minutes southeast to Fountain Square. This town square in the Sükhbaatar district is a central gathering point and a pleasant place to walk off your meal. It is a good spot to people-watch and feel the pulse of the city before the evening sets in.

Local tip

The monastery charges an entry fee of 4000₮. Nayra Cafe opens at 08:00, so if you arrive earlier than that, you might want to wait outside or find another spot until it opens.
