Best time: 15 AprAbout 120 min

Timeline

  1. 19:49

    Urheilupuisto Sports Park

Walk to Urheilupuisto Sports Park. The park is a short walk from the museum and offers a quiet, open space to stretch your legs and clear your head before the main event. It is a good place to pass the time and enjoy the early evening air.

  2. 20:34

    Turku Art Museum

Return to the Turku Art Museum. Position yourself near the Art Nouveau granite façade or the windows facing southwest. You are here to catch the sunset at 20:49. The sun sets toward the WNW, so the light will strike the building and the surrounding area in a warm, golden glow just before it dips below the horizon.

  3. 21:19

    Tintå

Head to Tintå for dinner. This wine restaurant sits by the river and serves gourmet pizzas and a good selection of wines. It is a relaxed spot to enjoy your meal as the city lights begin to turn on. The terrace offers a lovely view of the water.

  4. 22:19

    Seurusteluravintola Uusi apteekki

Finish the evening at Seurusteluravintola Uusi apteekki. This former pharmacy from 1907 is now a pub with a great selection of beer and spirits. The decorations are unique and worth seeing. Note that it gets crowded on weekends, so if you prefer a quieter drink, go early or be prepared for a lively atmosphere.

Local tip

The sunset is at 20:49, but the golden light starts around 19:51. If you want the best light for photos, arrive at the museum slightly earlier. Tintå is open until 01:00 on weekdays and 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, giving you plenty of time to linger.

Check before you go

  • Tintå is closed on Mondays. Check the day of your visit.
  • Uusi Apteekki is open until 02:00 daily.
  • Market Square and Market Hall are not relevant for this late evening plan.
