Old Town Light and Lunch

Start your afternoon in the quietest part of the market square before the farmers pack up, then move toward the river for a relaxed wine and pizza.

Timeline

  1. 13:30

    Market Square

Walk the Market Square while the light is still good. This is the commercial heart of Turku, surrounded by shopping centres and independent shops. Aim to be here before 14:00, as that is when most farmers leave and the square begins to quiet down.

  2. 14:00

    Turku Market Hall

Step into the Turku Market Hall. Completed in 1896, this historic building extends across an entire block and blends old architecture with modern life. It is the perfect spot for a snack or a quick bite while the market square is still lively outside.

  3. 14:30

    Tintå

Walk down to Tintå, a wine restaurant by the river. Enjoy a glass of wine from their selection of over a hundred options and order a gourmet pizza from their short menu. The terrace offers a pleasant view of the river if the weather permits.

  4. 15:30

    Urheilupuisto Sports Park

End your walk at Urheilupuisto Sports Park. Located just south of the city centre, this extensive parkland is home to the Paavo Nurmi Stadium and many sporting facilities. It is a great place to stretch your legs and enjoy the green space after lunch.
