Timeline

  1. 09:30

    Bardo Museum

Enter the Bardo Museum at opening. The collection is vast, covering prehistoric times to the Ottoman era, but the Roman mosaics are the highlight. Arrive early to explore the halls before the stifling heat and crowds build up.

  2. 11:30

    La Mamma

Walk east from the museum compound toward Habib Thamer Park. After a 64-minute walk, you will reach La Mamma. It is a cosy, multi-floor Italian-inspired restaurant. It is a good spot to sit, eat, and rest your feet after the museum walk.

  3. 12:00

    Panorama Cafe

Head to the Panorama Cafe viewpoint. Located at the end of the avenue, it offers a final perspective on the city. Since it is a daytime plan, this serves as a calm place to end your excursion.

Local tip

The museum can be mercilessly hot and stifling inside. Start at 09:30 when it opens to enjoy the mosaics in relative coolness before the midday rush. The walk from the museum to Habib Thamer park is long, so pace yourself.
