Prepare for the moment. Change into your swimwear and get your snorkeling gear ready. The cenote is at the intersection of Highway 307 and the road to the cenote, between the minimarket and the ticket booth. Use the time before golden light to settle in and watch the water.
19:01
The moment arrives. At 19:01 on 15 July, the golden light bathes the area. The sun is setting toward the WNW. This is the time to take in the view, swim, or simply sit by the water as the light shifts.
19:31
Wind down. Stay for a while longer as the light fades. Since it is one of the most popular cenotes in the region, expect it to be busy. Take your time to finish your visit before heading back.
Local tip
Set aside around 2 or 3 hours total for this visit. If you plan to swim, bring your own snorkeling gear to save on rental fees.
