Position yourself near the pyramid or a clear viewing spot within the ruins to catch the final moments of daylight. The sun sets toward the WSW, so look in that direction for the best light.
18:31
Watch the sunset. The golden light starts around 17:59, giving you a warm glow before the sun dips below the horizon at 18:31.
19:31
After dark, head back to your transport. Check the route for your return to Tulum town or your accommodation for dinner and a drink.
Local tip
The climb to the top of the Nohoch Mul is strenuous. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes. The bike rental is a fun and efficient way to get around the large site.
