Head back toward town for dinner and a drink after dark. The mission area is remote, so plan your evening meal in Tucson proper.
Local tip
The mission is located 10 miles south of Tucson on the Tohono O'odham San Xavier Indian Reservation. Check your route beforehand as services are limited in the immediate vicinity.
Check before you go
- Mission San Xavier del Bac is a working parish. Check for mass schedules or private event closures if you plan to enter the interior.
- The plaza stalls may close earlier than the mission hours; aim to shop before your sunset visit.
