A short walk to catch the desert light and end the evening quietly.

Best time: 17:05About 75 min

Timeline

  1. 16:51

Brother John’s Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ

Grab a drink at Brother John’s Beer, Bourbon, and BBQ. It is open until late, so you can arrive early and settle in before the light changes.

  2. 17:06

Old Pascua Museum and Yaqui Cultural Center

Walk from the pub to the Old Pascua Museum and Yaqui Cultural Center. The museum closes at 13:00, so this visit is purely for the exterior architecture and the historic 1926 home setting. It is free to enter.

  3. 17:41

    Mitchell Park

Head to Mitchell Park. This spot is positioned to the ENE of the anchor, offering a clear view of the sun setting toward the WSW. The walk is longer, so allow enough time to get there as the golden light begins at 17:05.

  4. 18:21

Old Pascua Museum and Yaqui Cultural Center

End the experience back at the Old Pascua Museum and Yaqui Cultural Center. The evening atmosphere around the historic home provides a calm way to close out the visit.

Local tip

The walk to Mitchell Park is about 50 minutes from the anchor. If you prefer a shorter stroll for the sunset, Doris J. Thompson Park is only 29 minutes away to the East, though the sun sets toward the WSW, making Mitchell Park the better alignment for the view.

Check before you go
