Timeline

  1. 16:03

    Allegro

Grab a slice of thin Italian pizza at Allegro. It is just a four-minute walk from the cathedral and open until 23:00 on weekdays, giving you plenty of time to eat before the light fades.

  2. 16:23

    Ishavskatedralen

Walk to Ishavskatedralen. The low sun of October casts a warm glow on the exterior. Head inside to see how the golden light interacts with the stained glass windows before heading out to view the sunset.

  3. 17:03

    Rådhusparken

Move to Rådhusparken, a 21-minute walk from the cathedral to the WNW. This park offers a clear view to the ESE, but more importantly, it is a short, flat stroll that lets you digest your meal while the sky changes color. The sun sets toward the WSW, so you will have a broad view of the twilight.

Local tip

The cathedral has limited opening hours outside peak summer. Check the website for current times before you go, as you might need to view the exterior if it is closed.
