Timeline
15:29
Grab a bite at Shogun Legacy. The hibachi tables offer a lively start to the evening, or choose sushi for something lighter before heading out. It is a short walk from the skate park area, making it a convenient stop on your way to the museum.
15:49
Arrive at Insectropolis. Walk past the praying mantis statue on the road to the museum. Enter the building to explore the live exhibits and learn about the creatures inside before the light fades.
16:14
Find a window or step outside the museum to watch the golden light begin. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a warm glow over the grounds. This is the peak moment for the day's lighting.
16:44
Stay a while longer inside. As the light fades, the interior exhibits remain illuminated, offering a different perspective on the insects. The museum closes at 3 PM, so ensure you leave before closing time if you plan to stay inside after sunset.
Local tip
The museum is open Fri-Sun 10 AM-3 PM. Since sunset is at 16:55 and golden light starts at 16:14, you must be careful with your timing. If you arrive after 3 PM on a weekend, the museum will be closed. Consider visiting on a weekday during school summer vacation (Mon-Fri 10 AM-3 PM) if you want more flexibility, or arrive well before 3 PM on Fri-Sun to catch the golden light from inside or just outside the entrance.
