Timeline

  1. 15:40

    Tokiya

Grab a dorayaki and a drink at Tokiya. This café is famous for its drum-shaped red-bean cakes and is open late enough to fit your schedule.

  2. 16:20

    Tokyo Metropolitan Government Center

Take the metro to Tochōmae station and head up to the observatories on the 45th floor. The North Observatory is open until 23:00, giving you plenty of time to find a good spot.

  3. 16:50

    Tokyo Metropolitan Government Center

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The twin observatories offer some of the best views of Tokyo, and the height provides a clear, unobstructed line of sight for the golden hour.

  4. 17:20

    Restaurant Kinoshita

End your evening with dinner at Restaurant Kinoshita. If you are visiting on a weekday, the lunch menu is a great value, but for dinner you can enjoy French food in a relaxed setting. Note that it is closed on Mondays and the third Tuesday of each month.

Local tip

The observatories are free, but check the specific opening days as the North Observatory is closed on the second and fourth Mondays of each month.
