Timeline

  1. 15:35

    Radio

Stop at Radio for a cocktail. This spot is decorated with antique radios and communist-era propaganda books, attracting a young, well-fed crowd. It opens at 10:00, so you have plenty of time to settle in before the light changes.

  2. 16:05

Grand Park along the Artificial Lake

Walk 16 minutes southeast to Grand Park along the Artificial Lake. The large trees and open spaces offer a natural setting to wait. The sun sets toward the WSW, and the park’s orientation allows you to find a spot with a clear view of the fading light over the lake.

  3. 16:35

Grand Park along the Artificial Lake

Watch the sunset. At 16:35, the sun dips below the horizon. The golden light starting at 15:53 will have already washed the scene in warm tones, making the artificial lake and surrounding mountains look striking.

  4. 17:05

    Era

Head back toward Blloku (16 minutes walk) to Era for a late dinner. Open until 24:00, this regional restaurant serves Albanian and Italian fare like stuffed aubergine and pilau with chicken and pine nuts, providing a cozy end to the evening.

Local tip

Blloku was closed to the public until 1991. The area is now the center of Tirana's youth culture and gets very crowded at night. Arriving early for the sunset view in the park helps you avoid the peak evening rush.
