Timeline
15:43
Grab a stout and settle into the outdoor seating at HaShoftim. The classic wooden bar is just nine minutes from the museum, giving you time to arrive early and find a spot that catches the last afternoon light before it turns golden.
16:13
Walk to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. Enter via the Amir building as the main frontage is under reconstruction. Wander the Rubinstein Pavilion or Amir Building exhibitions while the light is still bright enough to see the details in the modern and contemporary work.
16:58
Step outside the Amir building for the moment. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting a warm glow over the museum complex. This is the best vantage point to watch the day end without needing to travel far.
17:28
End the evening with a laid-back meal at Hummus Abu Dabi. This small vegan spot is open late and offers a chance to relax and watch the locals rush by. It is sixteen minutes away and fits the post-sunset wind-down perfectly.
Local tip
Fridays at Hummus Abu Dabi are especially crowded, so if you are visiting on a Friday, aim to arrive there earlier than the sunset window allows or choose a different spot. The museum closes at 14:00 on Fridays, so this plan is best for Saturday or Sunday.
