Timeline

  1. 18:25

    Abu Nassar-Hinnawi

Grab a late lunch at Abu Nassar-Hinnawi. This regional restaurant is just a four-minute walk from the beach and stays open until midnight, so you can settle in comfortably before the sun starts to dip.

  2. 18:45

    Givat HaAliyah beach

Walk down to Givat HaAliyah beach. It is the only beach in the area where you are likely to find free parking nearby, making it the easiest spot to park and stroll. The quiet atmosphere here contrasts sharply with the busier shores to the north.

  3. 19:10

    Givat HaAliyah beach

Watch the sun set toward the WNW. In mid-April, the sky turns gold around 18:37 and the sun dips below the horizon at 19:10. The lack of crowds means you can find a perfect spot on the sand or the promenade to enjoy the view without obstruction.

  4. 19:40

    Mike's Place

Head to Mike’s Place for a drink after dark. Located a short walk from the beach area, this American-style pub features live music every night, outdoor seating, and a lively crowd. It is open late, ensuring the evening continues smoothly once the beach empties out.

Local tip

Givat HaAliyah is significantly quieter than Aviv or Alma beach. If you prefer a more vibrant atmosphere with yoga and drum circles, you might consider starting at Aviv beach instead, though it is a longer walk from the anchor point.
