Timeline
15:00
Grab a pint at Oluthuone Panimomestari. This British-style pub is just a short walk from the station and serves local Plevna beer. It is the perfect place to warm up and soak in the local sports atmosphere before heading to the arena.
15:45
Head to Nokia Arena. Situated on top of the railway tracks, this is the home of the city’s two rival hockey teams, Tappara and Ilves. Even if there is no game on, the building itself is a monument to Tampere’s intense hockey culture. You can feel the rivalry in the architecture and the energy of the fans.
16:15
Walk to Koskipuisto Park. Located by the Tammerkoski rapids in the centre, this is a popular spot for a picnic or a quiet beer on a sunny day. It offers a peaceful contrast to the high energy of the arena and a nice place to digest your drink.
Local tip
The arena is 400m south from the railway station. The nearest tram stop is Sorin aukio on line 3.
