Start with a sweet treat. Vohvelikahvila is in the smallest stone building in Tampere and serves both sweet and savoury waffles. It is open until 20:00, so you have plenty of time before sunset.
15:13
Walk nine minutes west to Näsi Park. This park by Lake Näsijärvi offers a nice view and a memorial for the victims of the S/S Kuru shipwreck on its highest point. The park is a short, pleasant walk from the cafe.
15:43
Move nine minutes south to Koskipuisto Park. This is the spot by the Tammerkoski rapids. It is a popular place to have a beer or just enjoy the view. As the sun sets toward the SW, the water and the historic factory complex across the rapids will catch the final golden light.
16:28
End the evening with a drink at Teerenpeli. This pub is a 15-minute walk from the park area and offers a variety of home-brewed and imported beers. It is open until 24:00 on weekdays and weekends, making it a perfect place to unwind after the sunset.
Local tip
Koskipuisto Park is best for picnics or a beer on a sunny day, but it is also lovely for watching the sunset. The view of the rapids and the Tampella complex is the highlight.
