Walk through the Chinese Garden of Friendship. It is modelled on typical private gardens of the Ming Dynasty with a centrepiece Dragon Wall. The 18 minute walk from the White Rabbit Gallery keeps the journey short and pleasant.

Grab a quick bite at Marigold. This 800-seat institution is famous for its daily yum cha lunch service. Get seated near the centre to avoid the leftovers and enjoy the brisk service before the evening rush.
20:09
Return to the Chinese Garden of Friendship for sunset. The sun sets toward the WSW, casting long shadows across the historic landscape. Stay for the moment when the light fades and the garden transforms in the twilight.
20:54
End the night at Satang Thai Takeaway. It is open late and serves cheap, tasty Thai food with large portions. The Pad Thai is a particular favourite and the atmosphere is relaxed after the gallery hours.
Local tip
The White Rabbit Gallery is often closed in February and August, so check ahead if you plan to visit the anchor space itself. The food steps are timed to fit within their opening hours relative to the January sunset.
Check before you go
- Marigold is open for yum cha from 10:00 to 15:00. Arrive before 15:00 to catch the lunch service.
