Uplands Afternoon Stroll

Start your day in Swansea’s literary quarter, where the quiet streets of Uplands invite a slow pace and good coffee before heading into the parklands.

Best time: noneAbout 75 min

Timeline

  1. 09:00

    Social Bean

Grab a fairtrade coffee at Social Bean. The community-run café is open from 08:00, making it a perfect early start to warm up before the walk.

  2. 09:15

    Cwmdonkin Park

Walk 23 minutes WNW to Cwmdonkin Park. This Victorian park was a favourite of Dylan Thomas, and several of his works were inspired by its paths. It is a great spot for a quiet morning stroll away from the city centre noise.

  3. 09:45

    Noahs Yard

End the walk 6 minutes from the park at Noahs Yard. This Italian-inspired café and bar offers an earthy atmosphere with cosy artwork, including an original Banksy. It is open from 16:00 on weekdays, but for a daytime plan, you can enjoy the space or check if they serve earlier snacks. If you prefer a guaranteed daytime coffee nearby, Duck & Dough (12 min walk from the park, open 09:00-16:00) is a reliable alternative.
