Timeline

Grab a table at The Tug Restaurant. This former tugboat sits right by the water and offers a wide wine selection. Since reservations are essential, secure a spot for half an hour before sunset to enjoy the pre-dinner atmosphere with a view of the sea.
18:48
Walk out onto the Swakopmund Jetty. This 300-metre concrete structure is the perfect vantage point for the sunset. As the sun sets toward the west, the jetty’s length extends your view over the Atlantic, giving you that classic Namibian evening light.
19:33
Head to Tiger Reef for a sundowner. This beach bar is an excellent place to unwind after the sun has gone down. Walk along the beach toward Walvis Bay to reach it. Grab a bottle of bubbly and enjoy the transition from day to night in a relaxed, open-air setting.
Local tip
The Tug Restaurant is rather expensive but offers an unforgettable setting. If you do not have a reservation, try The Jetty 1905 at the end of the pier for fish and chips and a good wine list, though you should call ahead for reservations.
