Walk from the Shihubei Metro Station on Line 3 to the north side of Stone Lake. The Suzhou Archaeological Museum is nearby, but your goal is the open space by the water for the best view.

Find your spot at the viewing area. The sun rises in the WSW, so position yourself to face that direction across the water. The light will be soft and cool.

Head back toward the museum area. It is just after sunrise, and the morning light is settling in. The museum opens at 09:00, so you can wander the grounds or wait inside if the weather turns.
Local tip
The museum is closed on Wednesdays. If you are visiting on that day, check the route to the viewing spot directly from the station.
