Best time: noneAbout 180 min

Timeline

  1. 08:30

    Parque Simón Bolívar

Walk through Parque Simón Bolívar while it is quiet. This is the city's favorite lovers' hangout, so the early morning is the best time to stroll without stepping on the grass or dealing with crowds. You can watch the locals and see the small Eiffel tower replica before the day gets busy.

  2. 09:00

    Pizzaría Napolitana

Head to Pizzaría Napolitana for lunch. It is open from 08:30, so you can arrive right when it opens. Order the lunch menu for Bs. 25. It is a bit overpriced, but the service is reliable and it serves pastas, pizzas, and big sandwiches until 17:00.

  3. 10:00

    Mirador Recoleta

Walk 28 minutes to Mirador Recoleta. This viewpoint is located SE of the park. Take your time with the walk to enjoy the city atmosphere. At the top, you will get a broad view of Sucre. Since it is daytime, this is a good spot to rest and observe the city layout.

  4. 10:30

    El Germen

End your trip at El Germen, located near the Mirador. It is a 12-minute walk from the viewpoint. This restaurant serves a fusion of Bolivian and German cooking. If you are still hungry, you can order lunch specials for Bs. 20, which are vegetarian, or wait for meat dishes from the menu. They also have great desserts.

Local tip

The lunch menu at Pizzaría Napolitana is a set price, which makes budgeting easy. At El Germen, be aware that meat dishes take longer to prepare than the lunch specials.
