Timeline
16:24
Get to Weißenburgpark before the sun dips. Take the U5, U6, or U7 to Station "Bopser" and walk up the short hop to the viewpoint. The park and its Jugendstil-restaurant are open until 23:00, so you can secure a table or just find a bench.
16:54
Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light fades quickly in January, so enjoy the view while it lasts.
17:24
Head down from the park. You need to get to the city center for dinner. Check the route from Bopser station to Schillerplatz or Stadtmitte.
17:44
Arrive at Schillerplatz for dinner. Carls Brauhaus serves decent Swabian cuisine. It is open until 23:00 on weekdays and 01:00 on weekends, so you have plenty of time to eat.
18:24
Finish the evening at Palast der Republik. This pub is open late (until 01:00+ on weekdays), making it a perfect spot for a final drink after dark. It is just a short walk from Carls Brauhaus.
Local tip
The view from Weißenburgpark is opposite to Karlshöhe, so you get a nice wide outlook. If you are hungry before the sunset, the restaurant at the park is open until 23:00, but it is better to save your appetite for the traditional food at Schillerplatz.
