Timeline

  1. 07:41

    Birkenkopf

Take bus 92 to Birkenkopf and walk up the path to the summit. The air is crisp in the early morning, and the view over the city bowl is clear before the crowds arrive.

  2. 08:06

    SV Heslach Vereinsgaststätte, Weitmanns Waldhaus

Head down toward the Heslach area to SV Heslach Vereinsgaststätte, Weitmanns Waldhaus. This is a traditional German spot perfect for a warm breakfast or coffee to warm up after the climb.

  3. 08:31

    Heslach waterfalls

Walk 11 minutes from the restaurant to the Heslach waterfalls. Follow the trail through the forest to see the small cascades. It is a peaceful, green detour that feels far from the city center.

Local tip

SV Heslach Vereinsgaststätte is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you are visiting on those days, choose Sapori del Sud instead, which is open from 11:30. The waterfalls are best enjoyed in daylight, so the early morning start ensures you have plenty of time to explore the trail comfortably.
