Daytime

Killesberg Heights and Quiet Coffee

Start your afternoon in the green lung of the city, where you can climb a historic tower for a view before settling in for a late coffee.

Best time: noneAbout 120 min

Timeline

  1. 14:00

    Killesbergturm

Walk up to the Killesbergturm. This tower in Killesberg Park offers a high vantage point over Stuttgart. The walk from the Pragfriedhof area is about 24 minutes north-west, so leave some buffer time to get there comfortably.

  2. 14:30

    Höhencafe Killesberg

Head to the Höhencafe Killesberg, just a two-minute walk from the tower. It is a perfect spot for a snack or a drink. Note that it opens at 12:30, so you will have plenty of time to enjoy it in the afternoon. It is open Tuesday to Sunday.

  3. 15:00

    Killesberg Park

Stroll through Killesberg Park. The park is a large green space with a circuit that takes about two hours to walk at a reasonable pace. There are beer gardens and restaurants along the way if you wish to extend your stay, but a short loop will give you a good sense of the area.

Local tip

The Höhencafe Killesberg is closed on Mondays. If you are visiting on a Monday, try the Naturfreundehaus Steinbergle (open Wed-Sun 15:00+) or the Restaurant Weinstube Killesberg (open Wed-Sun 12:00-22:00) instead, though these also have limited opening days. For a daily option, consider heading back towards the city center to Café Einstein (open daily 10:00-24:00).
