Timeline
15:24
Grab a coffee at the Panoramacafé. It is just a one-minute walk from the tower base. Arriving early lets you beat the crowds and enjoy the quiet before the lift ride.
15:54
Take the lift to the top of the Fernsehturm. The €7 entrance fee covers the ride and the view. The tower opens at 10:00 on weekdays and 09:00 on weekends. Use this time to soak in the panoramic view of the city before the light changes.
16:54
Watch the sunset. On 15 January the sun sets at 16:54 toward the WSW. The tower’s height offers an unobstructed view of the sky turning colors over Stuttgart.
17:24
Head back down to the Panoramacafé for a post-sunset drink. The café stays open until 23:00, so it is the perfect spot to linger and reflect on the view.
Local tip
The Stadtbahn U15 to Ruhbank (Fernsehturm) gives you a wonderful view of the city on the way up. Entrance is €7 per person and is worth it for the near-fairground quality of the ride in the lift to the top.
