Timeline

  1. 15:23

    1893 Clubrestaurant

Grab a coffee and a pastry at 1893 Clubrestaurant. It is just a three-minute walk from the museum entrance and open until 16:00 on weekdays, giving you plenty of time to settle in before the rush.

  2. 16:13

    Uhlandshöhe

Walk 49 minutes west-southwest from the museum to Uhlandshöhe. This small ruin near the observatory offers a nice view. Arrive just in time to find a spot as the sky begins to change color.

  3. 16:53

    Uhlandshöhe

Watch the sun set toward the WSW. The golden light starts at 16:01, but the true moment is at 16:53 when the sun dips below the horizon. The view is best from the small ruin itself.

  4. 17:38

    Fridas Pier

Head back to the museum area and walk eight minutes to Fridas Pier. This bar opens at 17:00 on weekdays, so you will arrive just as it opens. It is the perfect place to warm up with a drink after the cold evening air.

Local tip

The museum ticket office closes at 17:00, so do not try to enter after the sunset if you need the ticket. The walk to Uhlandshöhe is steady but short enough to keep you warm.
